Angel’s Robe FallsThis is Hagoromo Falls, a word which translates into “Angel’s robe” or “feather cloak” falls in English. From the white of the water and the sun glinting off of it, I think the source of that name is pretty obvious. This waterfall is the 2nd highest in Japan with a total height of about 270 meters. The falls lay within Daisetsuzan National Park, near the center of Hokkaido, Japan’s northerly island. Like many of Japan’s features, the falls cascade over rocks that are volcanic in origin, produced by the long subduction of the Pacific Plate beneath Eurasia.-JBBImage credit: Christoph Rupprechthttps://www.flickr.com/photos/focx/8134814342(Thanks for making this creative commons licensed!)Read more:http://www.world-of-waterfalls.com/asia-hagoromo-waterfall.htmlhttp://www.toptour.com/en/2011/02/hagoromo-falls/http://www.planetware.com/japan/daisetsuzan-national-park-jpn-hk-dnp.htmhttp://northeastwaterfalls.com/waterfall.php?num=1364&p=0 -- source link
