Hanna Sheehy Skeffington (1877-1946) was an activist for women’s rights who, in 1908, founded the Irish Women’s Franchise League in order to achieve women’s suffrage. She later co-founded the Irish Women Worker’s Union.She was a devoted Irish republican, and advocated for the country’s independence from British rule. The IWFL which she founded eventually grew into one of the largest suffragist groups in the world. She also established the feminist newspaper The Irish Citizen in 1912. -- source link
