It’s My Little Monday! With Hairdo Pony Beautiful Bows! The Hairdos were later on in the line of G1, and were a Europe only release…which is unfortunate because as you can see here, they’re quite pretty with two gimmicks instead of one. (There are 3 of them in their set) She has a really thick, bright and lovely pearly coating for her body and it does not go over her eyes (the pearly baby set they didn’t bother to mask the eyes so they don’t look as good) The pearlization is the best they ever did on any set of ponies, by far. Every one of this group that you find will always have this excellent quality sheen and it isn’t too fragile, either. The other (and main) gimmick is their super style-able hair. Not only is it very long, but she has 3 rows of hair for the mane (so, thicker than usual), bangs, AND a horizontal row behind the bangs that combs back to help form styles. Next, there is a rubber covered wire set into the neck and into the tail. The tail one shares the hole with the hair & has a sculpted bow on the end. The mane one is a separate punched hole in the neck and it has a jewel-textured end with clamped fabric to create the bow. You can bend these wires around the hair to create different styles. Her symbol is appropriate, 2 ribbon hair bows. She’s quite the stand-out character isn’t she!Hot orange and purple hair, shiny yellow pearl body & totally 80s spatter paint pink/green bow in her big hair with her 80s bangs too. I love ponies like this who are quite of the era and wild styled as well. Both gimmicks are well thought out and sturdy while being fun to play with. The shiny pony and loads of hair would make this an instant hit on store shelves. She came with a special comb that had an oval mirror on top and the comb part as the mirror’s base. These are now outrageously expensive because only the hairdos had them & they had nothing ‘pony’ marked on them. Oddly, they didn’t come with anything else (like you’d think barrettes or ribbons or something) The backcard story is the same for all 3, with Starlight going to a hair salon and Bangles looking at a magazine (in the salon) while they say they are excited to get a new hair style. So……it’s another non-story really a barely-interaction at all which seems a bit typical of the later EU era back-cards. (Also their art has the artist who wanted to draw their faces more like dogs/make their bodies piggy and fat instead of the usual artist who had it more looking like the toys) Despite the box, she is an amazing addition to any collection…if you can find her (Or her pals Bangle & Starlight…each one is so pretty) Clearly a lot of good thought & design were put into these! -- source link
