lyrisdesign: The Lady of the Lake The inspiration for this gown was Monet’s paintings of waterlilies. To capture that effect, the gown and corset were made of three subtle shadings of blue, and the gauze overskirt was split to create an impression of swirling water around the client’s ankles. The client embroidered the hem with silk ribbon waterlilies, and we then further embellished it with organza lily pads, blue and silver seed beads and twisting green water weeds. This corset was lovingly hand embellished with water patterns, freshwater pearls and water weeds, with hand sculpted and painted waterlilies.
