WEEK 15 This past week we spent most of our time on site, digging to find the existing pipes and utilities that are buried. Some were pretty easy to find, others were fairly deep and below many layers of bricks! Equally important to discover was how the topography sloped on site. The team created a 10′ x 10′ grid for reference when using the Transit to survey the site. This also allowed to easily measure how deep some of the pipes were and how they slanted throughout the site. Which is incredibly important when moving forward with the design, not only to avoid breaking one of them but when thinking of vegetation or surface treatments. -- source link
