bizarrolord:idealisticshoujohearts:someoneintheshadow456:damnfandomproblems:I have never heard of a work where “a male protagonist is discriminated and fights back at a matriarchal society” but I would love to read one, especially if it’s a realistic deconstruction of mainstream feminist attitudes in modern western society or the future of it. The inversion is stale, overdone and frankly feels like a paranoid delusion. What I also want to see is “a female protagonist is held back primarily and exclusively by other women, and they constantly blame their shitty attitudes on men. The girl fights back and makes something of herself but her female relatives want to keep her down” Because that’s closer to how female oppression ACTUALLY works than men saying “huur duur women belong in the kitchen”I’d read it. Lately the sexism against women that comes from other women is worse than the kind that comes from backwards-thinking men because at least men are honest about their sexism. Women do it in the guise of “protecting” each other. “Don’t date men, all they want to do is rape you. Don’t try out for the sports team, they’ll never take a girl seriously. Don’t go for STEM careers, they’ll laugh in your face. Don’t wear makeup or short skirts, men can’t control themselves and will harass you. You’ll never break the glass ceiling, so why try?”Sexist men are just jerks or insecure about themselves.Sexist women, on the other hand, are fundamentally unhappy and self-loathing, and will do their absolute damndest to make you every bit as unhappy and self-loathing as they are, regardless of ethics or the cost to themselves. Crabs in a goddamn bucket. -- source link
