First ten days of April from my Book of Days series!1- I had a plan for the day and then one project ended up dragging it all down. I also wanted to reference Poisson d’Avril postcards, which was a French trend in the Belle Epoque with odd little rhymes that generally involved fish. The design of the fish is a family injoke. 2- The goalposts finally moved close enough for me to sign up for a vaccine and this was my mood for the rest of the day, haha. 3- I don’t usually shop online much but I’ve been letting my control slip recently… :’D But hey, now I really do have a mug with the 90s Jazz print on it! 4- At the end of last year I started making tiny little cardboard houses. I haven’t posted any outside twitter since most of them aren’t finished (turns out I like cutting and building them way more than painting them). Anyway I decided to cut a few more that Sunday! Do you know how long i’ve been sitting on that title, haha… 5- My arms were NOT happy about the previous day’s activities. 6- I’d had a bad day, then a beautifully illustrated tarot deck my friend made (The Blood Moon Tarot!) came in the mail and brightened my day considerably. 7- It’s MY self-indulgent project and I get to decide the level of historical anachronism!!! Anyway my friend and I realized the local Thai place was open for takeout after their winter break and I got a delicious but messy Pad See Ew. 8- Just a really wordy day. (Part of the thicket: a really good etymology podcast called Words for Granted!) 9- Got my poke! Couldn’t resist designing a cutesy plague doctor for the occasion. 10- The fever and aches set in late on Friday and continued into Saturday. I drew the day’s art feeling all achy and sorry for myself, but by midday I felt fine, haha oops. -- source link
