Pretty grossed out by the captions and comments sections of articles related to @therealsararamirez (most notably Callie Torres of @greysabc fame) coming out as bisexual and queer. I’m seeing a lot of ‘who cares’ and 'at least she dresses normal’ and 'bi is a cop out’ foolishness and it’s just a reminder that it is important, special and significant when women who live at various intersections live in their truth publicly. As a high profile Latina who is married to a man and comes from a religious Catholic background it is particularly courageous with how people discount bisexuality as an illegitimate orientation and believe you can’t love God and any human you choose romantically. Have we forgotten Orlando already? Violence is still an issue the LGBTQ community faces and people of color within the community are that much more at risk. Never forget. We miss you on Thursday nights and we love you Callie. Good on you for shining your light authentically and giving others the space to do the same ❤️ -- source link
