When this photo was taken in Bali this past spring I was going through a major life transformation. I love sharing my life on social media through videos and pictures, but one thing I’ve learned from doing this for the past 4 years is that people become very attached to your story. They believe what they see and it’s hard for them to accept that the story can change. And that’s really what this is, a story. My posts are edited snapshots of my happiest moments. And no matter how everything looks on social media, it rarely represents what’s going on behind the scenes. When this picture was taken my 8 year relationship had just ended. I was experiencing a huge range of emotions from extreme happiness to despair. I usually don’t talk about relationships on social media, but you guys have been asking if both Ryan and I are ok since we split. And the truth is, we’re both blissfully happy being apart. I understand that it looked like we had the perfect relationship in my videos, but we both knew it was time to end things and move on. We went through a “conscious” breakup and have remained friends since. I just uploaded a video about how we navigated through a breakup without fighting or blaming each other. The link is in my bio. From now on I probably won’t talk about my relationships in my videos or posts. It’s something that I’d like to keep more private, but I know that many of you were invested in our story and care about the outcome. And we both really appreciate your care and concern! What matters most is that we’re both happy, have moved on and support one another. #consciousbreakup #bali #healing -- source link
