His heart goes from zero to a hundred just from the sound of the nurse’s voice, like his body’s been jolted awake after a long nightmare. All night long nurses and doctors have come and gone, asking for visitors for other patients but never Izuku. He’d let himself dissolve into a haze as the hours passed by, but now all of that was clearing, the world becoming sharp again.The nurse is a kindly-looking woman in a pink nurse’s uniform, complete with pink kitten heels and a pink ribbon tying up her hair. She waits patiently while Shouto unfurls his sore, tired body from the uncomfortable waiting room chair. He winces a bit at the state of himself; he’d spent the hours hunched down, curled around himself and watching the shadows move across the floor as the moon rose and fell outside the window. Next to him, Midoriya-san gets up with much more grace, smiling and bending at the waist in a polite greeting. “Hello, darling,” Midoriya-san says in her soft voice. “We’re Midoriya Izuku’s emergency contacts.
