Dressing up is hard. Its been a while! My life has been getting pretty busy lately and its pretty easy to say that university is consuming 99% of my life. When I’ve not been inhabiting the silent floor of the library I’ve actually been having fun exploring my new city and now that I’m 18 enjoying the nightlife! (Although I’m still spending most of my nights knitting and watching netflix). With this has come the struggle of What do I wear? The dress in the picture above doubled as both a friends birthday dinner and a late night drinks-and-dancing dress. I love that dress, its comfortable, easy to layer a jacket and its just pretty. But putting it on still gives me flash backs to when I was a little kid playing dress up, Do I actually belong here? Was this the right outfit? I don’t fully know if the imposter syndrome will ever fully go away. But even if I don’t know how to get over not feeling like you belong somewhere I do have some tips to dress like you do:CLOSED IN SHOES. Theres nothing worse than having your toes stepped on a million times or having all kinds of drinks spilt on them.Tight. If you have the option to go for a fitted dress do it. Although a billowy skirt is always fun and flattering having to worry if your skirt is flying up every 2 seconds isn’t finIt doesn’t matter how good you look if you’re going to freeze to death. As winter gets closer and closer in Australia its important that you do dress for the temperature not just for what looks good. Tips for this is brining a jumper that folds up to be small and tying it to the outside of your bag or just bring an old jumper you don’t mind losing and try and stash it behind a table inside the bar/club you’re at.Stay safe and stay hydrated! ❤ Alley -- source link
