Sodom and Gomorrah - 1897 B.C.“Crawly’s chest was filled with panic as he saw another tear falling down the angel’s cheek. “Don’ t say anything” Crawly interrupted with a serious face. “They can’t read your mind, as long as your doubts are kept there, they’ll never be able to prove anything” he explained with a monotonous tone before looking down. It wasn’t the most malicious course of action a demon would take… but the red-haired being had never been good at following orders. He didn’t want Aziraphale’s light to extinguish. The angel had something he’d never seen before: honest kindness and compassion. Aziraphale belonged to Heaven, just as the clouds, the gold, the doves and the stars. He was what humans expected from God and the demon was quite attracted to that, like a moth to the light. To make Aziraphale fall would earn him a throne in Hell, but he’d lose the only good thing he actually had.” xThis is a small piece I drew based on the fanfic I’m working on “Of Desires and Temptations”. It came out as a headcanon I have that one of the main reasons why Aziraphale is constantly lying to Heaven is thanks to Crowley, who gave him the key to never fall by not making the same mistake that he did: doubting God’s will. The story behind Sodom and Gomorrah is quite upsetting when you think about the fact that sodomy was the sin it was punished for -that and the fact that Lot’s relatives tried to rape the angels that went there-. I’m giving a lot of context behind this in the fic, and once I’ll upload it, I’ll let the link right here. The stained glass windows are clearly simbolical, representing the colors of the characters or emotions in scene -Blue and green= Heaven. Red=Crowley. Blue= Aziraphale- but there are some formal meanings that are also quite interesting. Blue: Is associated with the color of the sky and therefore symbolizes heaven, hope, sincerity, and piety. Green: Is the color of grass and nature and therefore represents growth and rebirth, life over death. Violet: A bold color symbolizing love, truth, passion, and suffering. Red: The martyrdom of saints. It could also indicate strong emotions such as love or hate. Do I have issues with colors and symbols? Yes, absolutely. Thanks!!
