“You Play Too Much” (aka: “Don’t worry, they finna clean up after”) My contribution to the >Bratz Treatz Zine!< Sasha and Dylan having a marshmallow fight at the local cereal bar. You gotta get the zine for my official Artist’s Statement, buuut: 1. With a lot of contemporary adaptations going darkgrimgrittyedgy (looking at you Winx/Fate), I wanted to really lean into the poppy color + fashion of the 00’s, and make something fun and fly. 2. Dylan has a hearing aid in this illustration as a special lil bird-flip to the live-action movie from 2007, which made him deaf (cool!) but for some reason then chose to whitewash him (Boooo, hiss!) Since one can be H.o.H. and Black, I wanted to portray that reality with the coolest Bratz Boy there is. If you have the means, definitely check the zine ouuuut! <3 -- source link
