For you sweeties that have not come to join our merry band over on MeWe, this was my post (much different pictures because you-know-who is watching) over there. Movie night report with Jimmy. I love odd movies. I am not much of a fan of movies that have a message… I think they tend to be a bit preachy. But I love movies that knock me off my foundation. And movies that continuously entertain me and keep my attention. One of my all-time favorite movies I loved just because of the narration is “Cannery Row.” I love John Steinbeck books and the movie from his pair of books really really entertained me. Last movie night’s movie, “Dogville,” only shared a little something with “Cannery Row and that was in the incredible narration. The rest of the movie was very quirky, odd, different, and I loved it for that as well! I think it is right up with the other really disturbing movies that I have seen and loved: “Eraserhead”, “The Cook the Thief His Wife and Her Lover”, “Delicatessen”, and “The Dark Backward”. If you are a fan of odd and disturbing movies, and have not seen these, I highly recommend them. Between the story, and the incredibly odd setting of “Dogville,” I couldn’t take my eyes off of the movie. The story kept me totally submerged in its alternate reality. At some time in the distant past, I tried to watch this movie but I don’t remember seeing the whole thing so I must have been interrupted by something. But last night, there were no interruptions. Those came later… Just the lady next door Elmo Lincoln There is still time to join us over there. There are a few slots still open if you should care to take the virtual journey all the way over there: www.mewe.com/i/elmolincolnOr I think you can come over there and search for Elmo Lincoln. Some have found me. Some have not been so lucky. But time’s a’wastin’. Come over before the door closes and our two worlds drift apart. -- source link
