snootyfoxfashion: mystrangebones:snootyfoxfashion:Plus Size Body Candle from DropDeadCandles These are beautiful. But LISTEN my precious darling reading this: THESE ARE NORMAL BODIES. These are average AFAB bodies. Plus size my Fury invoking ass, okay? Okay. Our culture is so fucking broken. I get what you’re saying. But personally, as someone with a body like this, I hate when people try to say my body is ‘normal’ or ‘average size’ because like. It’s not. I’m fat. This is a fat body, let’s please call it fat. I’m not saying fat bodies aren’t normal, they are. And depending on what country you live in, maybe this body type is statistically average, but it’s certainly not where I am. I don’t love the term plus size either, but in this instance I really don’t think it’s an example of a broken culture. Valid! And we don’t know what size these people would be. Like I’m shaped like this too. I embrace the word fat as well. Fat IS normal & I 100% agree with everything you say To me these read as like a 14 or 16 US dress size, & here that is the average size but is designated plus size which *infuriates* me. That’s a broken system to tell most women their size isn’t the statistical norm when it is.There’s also the thing where body positive stuff says “celebrate fat bodies but only if they’re like pretty hourglass ones,” y'know? Just random thoughts. I definitely don’t always get this right–I struggle through my own body & food problems that color my perspective.Appreciate your thoughts & discussion very much! -- source link
