Also, sawed one hollow sterling stardust bead in half for reasons. I have like eight things going simultaneously so as not to be wildly inefficient with my time. It also helps me move on when something doesn’t work. If I start with four to six things from my plans, I can keep going from one step to the next, dropping the casualties aside and seeing the survivors on to the end. Then I can go back around to the beginning with what I learned from the first round and try again. Otherwise, I just get tripped up on the failures and never get the recharging energy of actually finishing something. It must be utterly crushing to be a sculptor who gets recast. I always think of An Jong Hak working on the Dollstown 18yr boy body for a full year only to see it recast within a month of shipping the first orders. It’s not just funds for tools and materials that get put back into an artist’s work when a piece sells, it’s also the joy of seeing the work realized and appreciated that gets funneled back into the next project. Just knowing you’re being exploited by someone you’ll never be able to confront directly can suck the motivation right out of you. Normally, you can ride the positive feelings after a success for quite some time, but what if someone undercuts the value you’ve put on your own time and labor? #vulnerability #toughness #emotionaltoll #arttheft #legitbjd https://ift.tt/2xTU17G -- source link
