My 2021 challenge proposal to all of my small business friends: ditch the adorable multicolor/holo packaging, and go eco. It was that time for me to start buying new shipping supplies, and I had a choice to make. Aesthetic or eco. I really wanted pretty packaging. I did. I still do. But at the end of the day our environment is more important to me than my shop aesthetic, especially for something that I know is going to go directly to a landfill. So. Starting now, and working into 2021, I will be making the active transition (while still using up my old supply) to eco friendly packaging. Apparel will no longer be bagged in plastic, but wrapped in tissue. Prints, pins, etc will be bagged in glassine bags as opposed to cellophane. I know I am a small part. I know major corporations could fix our environmental problems so easily. But the more we make the active effort to NOT buy their plastic products, the more they have to fight to adapt and stay in business.
