View of the Large Imported Elephant by TaguchiHere is a painting that’s found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is by the Japanese artist Taguchi & was completed in 1863. It illustrates a man delivering a packy as an imported gift to Japan, as the packy stands peacefully & eats some hay. What I like about this piece is how the packy is depicted in this older Japanese style & is probably how many people imagined these wonderful animals before actually seeing them.Picture found here. -- source link
