Here hard by the marge of this lone lunar lake Comes light from that pale lunar eye, It shines on a girl as she bathes in the brake, Her beauty is such that my breath it will take, Now surely for her I would die. She’s white as the cool moon is pale and so white, Her hair is a great scarlet weave, She’s learned at love this nymph of the night, She eyes me and smiles knowing well my sad plight, And knows that I’m helpless to leave. She stands now erect, she’s so graceful and cool, I’m near faint at the sway of her hips, She rises with strength from this cold lunar pool, A nymph to be sure, she’s both potent and cruel, She brushes my face with her lips. I am plunged into realms that few men may call, I feel like a soul who has died, I am there in the reeds in a terrible sprawl, Each sigh from her throat is a harsh madrigal, Owned by this pale blushless bride! Here hard by the marge of this lone lunar lake Comes light from that pale lunar eye, It shines on a girl as she bathes in the brake, Her beauty is such that my breath it will take, Now surely for her I would die.
