fannibalsresist: Hello, USian Fannibal Family! You may know me as @septimalshenanigans (@7nanigans on twitter). For a lot of us, fandom is an escape. An oversaturated surreal world populated with a rather high number of absurdly elaborate serial killers is actually a lot less scary than the one we happen to be living in right now.Fandom is also a community. It’s this amazing thing that connects us.And sometimes the passion and levity of a fandom can help us do things that maybe we wouldn’t otherwise have the means to do.Fannibals are everywhere. We’re full of creativity and drive and, hey, pretty good at campaigning. But the things that we can do for the real world are wildly different depending on what state, what county, what town we live in. I’m hoping to a space where people who want to participate, who might already know one another through our awesome Fannibal Family, can connect and cheer on our people to get those things done. This isn’t about pressure. This isn’t about forcing the inescapable awfulness of IRL into our fandom space, demanding that you stop writing fic and fax your senators. This is for those who might find it helpful to bring the joy and community of fandom to things you were going to do anyway, or want to do.Everything’s better with cannibalism jokes. -- source link
