When I first started teaching yoga I would occasionally laugh to myself because it felt like we were playing Simon Says and I was always Simon. Even after several months of training I didn’t feel qualified to teach because I just wanted to know more. That feeling has made me realize a great teacher is a permanent student. You’ll never know everything but you should always be open to learning, even if it means changing the way you do things. What I seek for my students to learn is that you’re really your own best teacher. I’m sure you’ve heard it before but here is the reason why, it means you’re being aware. Aware of your capabilities, needs, sensations, emotions and so much more. Go where your body wants even if that’s not exactly what the teacher is saying. Learning about yoga is more about being conscious of your body than the postures. Try to remember this the next time you step on your mat. | #practiceandalliscoming #awareness #conciousness #listen -- source link
