The idea is that Flintfang would take the role of the father, Badgerfang the son, and Brokenstar the king. As Flintfang runs through the forest, carrying Badgerfang, Badgerfang sees a vision of Brokenstar, trying to take his spirit to the Dark Forest. Badgerfang, unwilling to die, cries for help, as Flintfang runs faster and faster, trying not only to comfort Badgerfang, but himself as well. -- source link
