vallonde-laid-bare: Well, hello there! I feel like it’s been forever, this is probably the longest I’ve gone without posting something. We’re in the middle of summer and have spent the last week battling to get our AC fixed so that we don’t die from head stroke. Our ferrets basically melted! But, it was finally taken care of and I was able to actually sit down and put some work into getting this new class sorted out so here it is!This is hands down the most creatively challenging character option I’ve created so far. My idea going into this was to create a very versatile class where no two characters would be the same, and part of that was giving every player a multitude of options for how they create and play their cosmologist. Every character has a variety of star signs to choose from, the astronomer archetype has a number of OTHER star signs to choose from, the conduit has a large number of mutations to choose from, and even the beacon, the only option without a great deal of choice, has random chance built into their kit so playing the character will be different every time they sit down at the table. Part of building this class was accepting that, with all of the options, I don’t think it can be balanced very well, or at least not easily. It may be overpower, it may be underpowered, I’m even considering making it a class that you can’t multiclass into/out of. Since I’ve had no real chance to playtest it at all, I don’t want to be rash about how I handle it, though. For now I just want to put it out there for everyone to pick apart and then I’ll make changes based on feedback because you all give me outside perspective that I just can’t have being so close to the content. This is very much a v.1.0 that is subject to change. As always, questions and comments are welcome. I’d love to hear your thoughts!(Content PDF) (Patreon) -- source link
