Pre race thoughts: Are there hills? I just want to be faster than last week. I REALLY need to start drinking water and not just coffee before these things. Starting line thoughts: Oh. This is small. Less than 100…? I totally do not want to start this far up! *moves back to the middle of the crowd of runners* She looks fast. STOP IT. No judging people! But yeah…she looks fast. *steps back a bit more to be farther behind the fast looking woman* Race thoughts: Downhill staaaaarrrrrttt! Woooo! Welp, I passed all the elementary kids. Is that the lead vehicle up there…? Am I sure I want to pass the fast looking woman? Maybe hang out behind her for a bit? Nah. Just go. Oh heeeeeyyy… it’s way warmer than I thought it was going to be. Stupid capri tights. Ugh. So much sweat. So much. I should start wearing shorts again. Is this faster than last week? These are inclines, not hills. Huh. Is that still the lead vehicle? Are there only like, five people ahead of me? Can I even count? There’s sweat in my eyes.
