Wonderland Trail | Day 4 | 9.7.19 Mystic Lake to White River | 14.2 miles I was a little lazy coming out of camp today, only leaving before one last group. But I wasn’t too worried because my hike for the day was the shortest one of the trip yet, at only twelve miles. The day started out fairly easily, with a slow descent down to a open valley with some very nice views of the mountain before the next climb. Once I reached the top of the climb, along the NE side of the mountain, I was up on another exposed ridge, where the wind was blowing quite heavily. I stopped here at the ridge line for a break before descending down into a gorgeous meadow. A little while later I reached the Sourdough Trail junction, and from here I took this detour down to Sunrise and got a burger and ice cream for lunch. This was a great little side trip. After lunch, I made the last descent past Shadow Lake on down to White River, where I made camp just before a thunderstorm rolled in.
