Page 29 of the North American manual for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door contains a screenshot that depicts a scene not possible in-game. Mario is shown performing a Ground Pound before the first Black Chest in Rogueport Sewers, which is closed; in addition, his current partner is Koops.During the plot of the game, Mario must open this Black Chest to advance to Chapter 1, and Koops only joins Mario’s party in Chapter 1. In addition, Mario needs the Super Boots to perform a Ground Pound, which are obtained in Chapter 2, also not accessible without opening the chest. As such, this screenshot was likely taken in an earlier version of the game where this sequence of events was possible, since another image in the manual that I have posted before seems to depict an earlier version of the game as well.Main Blog | Twitter | Patreon | Small Findings | Source: NA manual for PM:TTYD (GC) -- source link
