2020.12.28 10:44 MondayI’ve built myself a new personal logo. I was noodling around on the internet last night, and saw the Redbubble logo. What drew me to it wasn’t that it was a red round circle, but my initials in the middle of the logo. It got me to thinking I can improve on the idea. I put my initials in a circle, different typeface, but decided I didn’t want red, because, it would look like the Redbubble logo. So I went another direction with color and struck on blue. But then there are so many logos that are based on a blue circle, i went a third way with green. I kind of like green. It’s not easy being green. And my complete initials are “RDB”, which are near enough to the first three letters of my name, or the whole of my shortened name that I adapted the logo I created to either RDB or ROB, whichever would fit my fancy depending on the future project at hand.I also thought that my initials in a circle would also have been way overdone. So I expanded the lettering to actually break the “boundary” of the circle, and let the negative space outside the circle make up the actual lettering of the typeface.I don’t feel like I actually need another personal logo, but it was a pretty good exercise in design to do it. I wasn’t copying the Redbubble logo, but letting it stimulate and pose the problem. I put this together in a morning. I’m getting pretty good with the mediocre free software bundled with the free Windows software on my laptop.Image Copyright 2019 by Rob Bryan -- source link
