lt-trick: So I’ve watched Disney-Pixar’s Luca about 20 times now? Mostly through reaction videos just because I love it so much. I also love Star Trek and the wonderful ship that is McKirk. So, watching Luca and Alberto, I felt it really lent itself to some McKirk vibes. This took me a damn long time ( @aishahiwatari can attest to that) and backgrounds are the devil but here it is!I wanted a color contrast because I feel Jim would be a bright sea creature- which matches his personality but also puts him on a disadvantage when it comes to stealth. He’s always wanted to explore the surface so maybe he wouldn’t be that different from everyone under the sea. On the other turn, I wanted Bones to have more of an earth tone- a creature colored to blend in and he sees himself as unremarkable, for the most part. -- source link
