Probably the only remotely “political” thing I will ever reblog. I would like to mention though, that Two Spirit People are not in fact considered homosexuals from an emic point of view. They belong more to the third and fourth gender categories. A Two Spirit person is, essentially, a transgendered person. This means a Two Spirit person who is biologically male marrying a man is not a homosexual. Some societies consider two-spirited people neither male nor female and they have their own specific roles within their societies. Some Two Spirit people, for example, are shamans or healers.
