kyleehenke: I’m no end-all be-all expert on proportions, but I do follow a general set of rules taught to me in art school and I thought I’d try to illustrate my issues with the new Sailor Moon art style while comparing it to the old one Even if they’re trying to make it look more like the original manga style, bad proportions don’t translate well to animation! I’m hoping maybe the final product will look better when we finally see it in motion, but so far the new art style doesn’t impress, especially considering the new & old styles are the SAME NUMBER OF HEADS TALL and there is absolutely no excuse for awkward broken legs. Keep in mind, tall shoujo styles CAN work, so long as you still follow basic rules of proportion! -- source link
