withtegwyn: Photography by Jessica Kellyfor a series on Escorts in LondonI feel conflicted about this photo. The photographer payed me my usually hourly rate to photography me. I was happy to do it. It seemed like easy money. I had to do very little.I was home alone. She arrived and looked a little scared considering I was the one stripping but I understood. A woman alone walking into a random blokes flat.. I tried to make her feel comfortable. I’m use to taking photos of me and the boys for advertising purposes so instinctively I thought the clutter of our home might detract from the photo. I usually photograph myself against a blank background so.I took her up stairs to the empty spare room we had. Thats what you see in the photo.NOW I understand the nature of the shoot but I feel like an idiot on reflection. I saw the photo in the gallery and not just that! A woman I went to Uni with contacted me asking me if it was me as she had seen the shoot in an Australian magazine.Well..when I saw the photo I realised I had become the poster boy of East end London poverty. I unwittingly took her up to that room, sat on the bare mattress and gave her the image I knew she wanted. It’s a good photo but is it me? Is it the image of a rent boy? No. It’s a fraction. It’s an idea. It’s me without cloths. It’s me just before I cooked food for my friends. -- source link
