michaelmoonsbookshop: darkcrimsonshadow: michaelmoonsbookshop: emyrldlady: michaelmoonsbookshop: take an old book a shop would have thrown away - carefully fold the pages in half starting at the centre now you have a beautiful unique place to put your mail? or even display photos or postcards.. Feel pleased you have saved a book from certain destruction and made something different! this is gorgeous, but I’m not sure if I could fold the pages this was a worthless book of reprinted condensed novels - give it a go! its good fun! I would feel as if I was disrespecting the book and creating an act of blasphemy. if it saves a book from destruction and makes it an attractive piece of functional unique art it can’t all be bad.. can it? This is similar to how I feel about re-purposing books for art; the ones I use have been literally saved from the dump. I don’t use anything rare, or in good condition, and my main source is from thrift stores that let me pick through books bound for recycling or dumping because no-one bought them over the course of a few years. -- source link
