Savory Breakfast Muffin RecipeThis recipe used to be available online, but it’s since disappeared, so I’m saving it here for future use.Ingredients:14 ounces breakfast sausage1 teaspoon chili powder½ teaspoon salt½ teaspoon pepper2 cups Bisquick*1 cup cornmeal3 eggs¼ teaspoon garlic powder1 ¾ cups milk¼ cup chopped green bell pepper¼ cup chopped red bell pepper½ cup minced onion1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (use smoked for best flavor!)3 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves, finely chopped½ teaspoon saltDirections:Crumble the breakfast sausage and cook with the chili powder, salt, and pepper until browned and let cool. Combine that with all the remaining ingredients, spoon into greased or paper-lined muffin tins, and bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.* Homemade Bisquick substitute: 2 cups flour, 3 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, and 2 tbsp. oil or melted butter. -- source link
