naked-atelier:Ralph Fleck, Freiburg, 1992. Foto Dieter BlumFor at least two centuries, people have been fascinated by the relationship between artist and model. In the course of 20 years, worldfamous photographer Dieter Blum has photographed 70 artists interacting with a nude model – whom he brought along with him. “One of the photographer’s masterpieces,” writes Prof. Klaus Honnef in his insightful foreword. World-renowned dancer Ismael Ivo has portrayed the roles of both Francis Bacon and Robert Mapplethorpe – and is thus his own model in two of the images collected here. Ivo himself comments: “With no doubt what remained very strong for me has been the experience with two major protagonists of this art. They are: Robert Mapplethorpe and Dieter Blum … Blum mastered the time of movement in photography and immortalized the image in a genius capture.” Multi-awarding-winning photographer Blum lives and works in Germany. His work has been published in all the major German magazines. In addition to numerous books, his extensive oeuvre has also been the subject of national and internationalsolo exhibitions. Among other things, Blum strongly shaped the iconic image of the Marlboro advertising. (A part of art, 2012) -- source link
