The fifth stripe is a very dark, almost black teal/gray. End of description.]About 2 years ago I designed a fluid sexuality flag and posted it to this blog. Quite a few people liked it and identified with it, which is so great!! Someone asked me about designing a flag for fluid romanticism/fluid romantic orientation, so I decided to make one! In my opinion the original fluid flag can be used for any kind of fluid orientation, but I definitely understand that some people like to have distinct flags. My process for designing this flag was very different than how I designed the original flag. I started with the concept of the ocean and worked back from there, so the specific colors aren’t really tied to meaning as much. I chose the theme of the ocean because the ocean is, quite literally, fluid! It moves and changes all the time, but there are periods of much greater change than others. I didn’t want it to be all blue-green because I feel like that would be more indicative of something that changes but stays the same at its core, and that’s not how a fluid orientation is for many people. The light blue and light yellow represent the sky and sand of the beach. The gradient from light teal to a very dark, nearly black gray represents the change in orientation that people experience. The light and dark stripes also represent how some people experience changes in how strongly they feel attraction. This design, just like the fluid sexuality flag, is for the community! I encourage people to use it in whatever ways they want, including projects that lead to monetary gain. -- source link
