What Made Me Smile This Week:Monday 2/25: After a long, treacherous year of using a $14 coffee maker, complete with a leaky base that results in spilled coffee 4-6 times each week, we finally decided to upgrade to an elegant $17 model. Dry countertops and living like an aristocrat with our fancy new coffee maker makes me smile.Tuesday 2/26: During a school visit in Minneapolis today, where I shared my children’s book with several classes of K-2nd graders, a very young student asked me “When did you know your disease was going to affect your life?” The thoughtfulness of her question made me smile.Wednesday 2/27: This is quite possibly the most significant accomplishment of my life: I’ve been verified by Instagram and given the highly-coveted blue checkmark next to my username. Now that I’ve reached the pinnacle of human achievement, I can smile knowing that my life has been worthwhile.Thursday 2/28: February, also known as the stupidest month to ever be invented, is over. Getting closer to summer makes me smile.Friday 3/01: My van door broke, but thanks to Hannah’s hulk strength, I did not get trapped inside for the rest of my existence, which made me smile.Saturday 3/02: Homemade hash browns with onions, garlic, and Parmesan cheese made me smile on this lazy Saturday.Sunday 3/03: Seeing so many of your register for the 2019 Laughing At My Nightmare 5K Run, Walk, and Roll makes me smile! The festivities included Build-a-Bear, dinner at Shake Shack, and designing customized cupcakes. My favorite part of the night was when her niece was showing everyone her new stuffed bear. Perceiving that I was not able to reach out and feel its softness like everyone else, she came closer and rubbed the bear on my hand. This adorable act of kindness made me smile. What made you smile this week? -- source link
