In hindsight, this looks like some kind of poster for an animated cartoon, but I’m okay with that; this style is fun to draw in :’DWatcher and NPC Tenebrae, because not only do I love me some edgy shadowy people, but I also love contrasting characters. Having Watcher be the light and Tenebrae the shadows may not please Watcher, but it pleases me.Tenebrae, who’s a drow but currently a sentient magical helmet, used to belong to the barbarian, but when she left the party/campaign, a few of her items were distributed across the party. Watcher wound up with Tenebrae, because the kobold cleric didn’t want him, and nor did the suit-of-armour fighter. It’s not exactly his style or aesthetic, but some magical items you don’t pass up. In amongst offering up dark vision and the chance to create shadowy armour about the user, whoever’s attuned to the helmet can summon a shadowy Tenebrae as an temporary ally at cost of themselves (aka a failed death save that only resets on a long rest, and Tenebrae shares their HP pool). Because of said cost, it’s not necessarily something to do unless things look a little desperate. So of course he got called out to help a mere two sessions after swapping over to Watcher - a boss battle against a mage and couple of nasties, with the fighter close to death and Watcher stuck in a situation where he was limited in options to help. -- source link
