I cannot. Express. How much patience. I had to scrape. From the bottom of my patience barrel. Before being able to reveal this illustration. This was an illustration inspired by The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern featured on the latest in the series of puzzles made for LitJoy Crate, and I’m so happy that it’s finally out in the world!!I don’t know why it’s affected me so much, but this is something I literally fall asleep looking at on my wall every night; it’s like made of dreams and completely my aesthetic. I’m truly in the middle of planning to make this design into an actual working clock of etched/carved and stained wood. The design was super fun, and a bit deviate from classic imagery for The Night Circus. While the focus here was on the clock, I did try to throw in hints of the different circus tents inside the night train’s cars that circle the clock. The Hall of Mirrors section is probably my favorite aspect, with our secondary characters running through the halls with reflected variants around and between. And lastly, our two main characters, Celia and Marco are channeling the symbolism of “The Lovers” vignette from the book - always gravitating toward each other, yet never touching. -- source link
