overlord-flinx:tarajenkins: overlord-flinx:tarajenkins:Yoshi-P asked players to wonder whether Vauthry really was a friend of the Sin Eaters, or was he controlled by someone. I think about that a lot. Work in progress until I learn to paint orz I feel… Bad for him. He was born into the world a “monster”. Sin Eaters bowed to him, he was put into power, and NOBODY could ever deny anything he wanted. Give any child that at birth, and they’d turn out like him: childish, incapable of understanding the plights of others, self-rightous. Even if the powers put into him formed his mentality in some way–which I don’t believe–it doesn’t change that nobody told him how to lead or be a person. Literally every other character in the game touched by Sin Eaters was Tempered. Just a thought. Seems odd to arbitrarily single him out as an exception to that rule. ʅ(ツ)ʃ Because he’s the single person that was born a sin eater. If he was just Tempered, you’d think he wouldn’t be freaking out the moment he starts transforming. It’s not really arbitrary when there’s plenty of outlying reasons and incongruities that make him something of an exception to the usual standard, just a thought. He was born a child corrupted, for the Ascians’ particular plans–he was an entirely Hume infant before E-S came along. Not a Sin Eater, not a “half-Sin Eater”, a wholeass Hume baby, in a wholeass Hume mother, with a wholeass bastard Hume father, and he was groomed from birth to believe everything he did was was for good–he wasn’t “freaking out” at the emergence of Innocence, it was the “passion of his Ascension”. He was made to believe Ascension was really a thing–a good thing. That’s why he couldn’t understand how the “villains” won, because “good” was supposed to triumph over “evil”. None of this would have been a thing nor even possible had the Ascians not corrupted and manipulated a child. I prefer to put the blame where the blame is actually due. ʅ(ツ)ʃ -- source link
