A more straightforward adventure sequel to Feast Unknown with Tarzan (…well, close enough) fighting a conspiracy that rules the earth of nine immortals from the stone age…this one has maybe the single greatest opening in all of adventuredom: it begins, on the first page, with Tarzan leaping out of a plane without a parachute at 10,000 feet….and surviving when he hits water. That’s called “setting the outer limits of reality” (it’s why the most fantastical thing in any given story is in the first scene, like how the first scene in Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire are the Others/White Walkers, despite the fact they won’t be important for a little while, or how the first scene in It’s A Wonderful Life, you have angels talking). If you’re on board with that, you’re on board with anything. -- source link
