primarybufferpanel:therobotmonster:myotp-ruinedmylife:animatedamerican:ramonameisel:I absolutely adore villains! And I think it is important to keep your villains at least as interesting as your heroes, if not more. Here are just a couple of villain motivations that are not your typically tragic backstory, but I’d love to hear your opinions! DUTY. I feel personally obligated to this course of action, to serve either a principle or an individual/group to whom/which I am loyal.CURIOSITY. I just want to learn the truth / see what happens, and I don’t care who gets hurt.… actually, “and I don’t care who gets hurt” should possibly be tacked onto all of these. you know, in my opinion, some of the best and scariest villains are the ones who genuinely, truly, believe they are doing the right thing. it’s an interesting perspective that i feel like isn’t explored as often as it should be BOREDOM: I have seen so much, experienced so much, I will do whatever it takes to feel a scrap of interest or passion. Not sure how to describe it but I also like ‘Brutal things happened to me and only my current course of action can make it feel like there was a reason for them. If I don’t do keep going on this path I will have to acknowledge that my suffering was senseless and useless.’ -- source link
