leperwitch:youthcrimes-blog:Babes In Toyland at the old 9:30 Club in DC. Kat’s using a metal carpenters file on her guitar. The result was a gnarly wall of eardrum-piercing noise! It made a couple of her guitar strings break… one of which cut her finger open, causing her to bleed like a stuck pig. A great show!Kat Bjelland is in stage 4 of liver failure and was deemed not eligible for a transplant. She’s been moved to hospice care, where she’s going to be riding out her final days.As a long-time Babes in Toyland fan and as someone who was lucky enough to see them live, I am absolutely heartbroken. Kat is a beast of a musician and it hurts to know she doesn’t have much time left.I regret not talking to Kat when I had the chance. She was two feet away from me and I was just too shy to say anything. Now I wish I had, even if I sounded like a dork. -- source link
