suppermariobroth:Donkey Kong Country 3 appears to have a visual theme of bloodshot eyes for enemy characters, which curiously can only be seen when looking at the official artwork for the game, and not by actually playing the game. In-game, the sprites are either rendered at a resolution too small to notice the eyes or, in case of some enemies, missing the bloodshot aspect of the eyes entirely. Only Belcha (the barrel boss; third row, right column) has eyes that are visibly bloodshot during gameplay. This may be a reference to King K. Rool’s bloodshot eye, which has been part of his design since the creation of the character; it is possible that the eyes were intended to signify that the enemies were being directly controlled by King K. Rool (appearing in this game as his scientist alter ego Baron K. Roolenstein) or otherwise had a connection to him.Main Blog | Twitter | Patreon | Small Findings | Source -- source link
