He loves being surrounded by his and his fellow Jock’s gear. He knows it’s all been cleaned and washed but he can still taste their sweat and hard work in the air. Even without touching it he can feel how connected they are when they are all geared up for Coach. The feel of his own gear along his neck is enough to pump him up and make him eager to hit the ice.
