He’d had his hands wrapped before, once a Jock gets to a certain level it’s expected that someone else is taping him up and lacing his gloves. So that wasn’t new but the way the new Coach kept eye contact, kept talking in that steady even tone, that was different. He felt like he was falling, even with both his feet under him and his other hand there to steady him he felt off balanced. Like the touch of Coach’s hand and the tenor of his words were the only things keeping him from losing himself.
