fearfm:water dripping onto the floor, video tapes watched until they went fuzzy, wondering what it’s like to be loved unconditionally, living for the hope of it allThe water draws them near. If you wander down near the lake, you might find them on the shore, feet in the water, enjoying the gentle lapping of soft waves. They’ve always been connected to the watery abyss, but they’ve never really liked to be fully submerged. Up to their ankles was fine for them, even a little deeper maybe, but that was it. They liked being near the water, but never all the way in it. Water calmed them, put them at ease, and then they could wander back into town and have a perfectly civilized day with no erratic thoughts or actions. But, they couldn’t do that all the time. They worked early in the morning and by lunchtime, they were often annoyed. They’d find themselves irritated with their coworkers and hoping they could just leave. Or worse. Sometimes worse. There were days they did worse, too. They liked to go to the playground in town and swing on the swings, often spending time there around sunset, when the parents were just leaving with their children, so they wouldn’t have to compete with the kids on the playground. They’re childish and carefree, and while they can easily do their work, they like to have fun and let loose. And in a town like Kingstown, they know just how to do that.
