Timberline Trail | Day 2 | 08.24.19 I woke up fairly early on Saturday, packed up, and prepared for the long day ahead. I knew it was going to be fairly tough but I had all day to complete the hike, so I set off excited for the second half of the trail. The morning brought me through a burn on the N side of the mountain, through a couple river crossings, and up a few steep climbs before finally reaching the alpine zone. The mountain loomed next to me, completely exposed as I hiked above the tree line. Eventually, I descended back down below tree line and into some river valleys. The last river crossing was a torrent of mud and rocks rushing downstream, forcing me to jump across to the other side.
