Singular Word Artistic Prompt #1 (Obviously not an anatomical reference; this is for people who want to practice their skills via given challenges.) The point is to interpret the word in your own way. You know the definition, and, hopefully you speak English well enough to comprehend the meaning behind it, but (goes without saying) people develop different connections, allusions, and emotions with the exact same subject. Not only is this an interpretational prompt, it’s a prompt to exercise your creativity. Don’t stay confined within the definition; Make the definition pertain to what you create. The colour is to be restricted to a single pigment, however. Don’t cheat by saying “eh, close enough.” It’ll be tempting, ‘cause the potential for an image to be boring by sticking with one colour is looming. Like I said, this is intended to flex your creativity. You gotta get creative with a small pallet. (Tip: Incorporate the white of the background; think about utilizing it to manipulate the colour.) Why the diminutive size limit? It’s challenging (if you do it properly). Like the previous prompt when given a scenario, you gotta convey a vibrant emotion behind this. Something that evokes that emotion from someone. Not only does it emanate the sensation, but it drags it out of people as well. This is an anatomy blog, so, of course, there ought to be something anatomical to this. I’ll let the subject not be restricted to humans (you can make a person/people, animal/s, splice/s, etc.), but don’t only draw a scenery. And the figure(s) ought to be the main focus. There can be props and a background, but that all won’t be as prominent as the figure (should you choose to incorporate that stuff). The time limit is shorter than those in previous prompts. And try to adhere to it. Others in the past were optional, but this is a smaller image with a small pallet… it’ll be helpful to work with time constraints on occasion. So, when you start the project, assume that you plan to finish it within the limit. The real challenge is going to be making an image that’s whimsical, intriguing, and/or emotionally-involved, but keeping it within the confinements of a limited size, colour, and time. I’ll just reiterate that it’s a creativity challenge, if anything. Be passionate about it. This challenge is not for a prize or anything. This is simply a fun activity for individual practice. Challenge yourself, tumblr artists! Good luck! When you finish your creation, share it with everyone by reblogging this post and pasting the URL to the art into the text section. I’m excited to see what you’ll create! -- source link
