I’m kind of out of things to say about Raquel Paiewonsky’s work, but here’s another of her photographs. Isn’t it good? She also speaks well about her practice, so I’ll just leave you with a quote: “I have always been very interested in how the body is a container that contains, sometimes in a mysterious and subtle way and other times in a forceful way, the experiences that we go through in life. The work that I have been developing in recent years explores the relationship between our essence and our environment, the impact generated in us by cultural constructions and stereotypes, always having as a reference our instincts and the most primary parts of our nature. And how it is affected in the new changing contexts of today. Although I usually do not approach the most visible violence, I touch closely the veiled violence that accompanies the social, political and personal systems that we occupy.”Raquel Paiewonsky, Simbiosis Para Salvarnos, 2009 -- source link
