No idea how that would work, considering that the league of lazarus seperated from Ra’s hundreds of years ago accrording to Joshua Williamson, but it would be pretty cool if it turns out this is Melisande. I’m open to be suprised. hmmm…considering they do sometimes insist on Ra’s being hundreds of years old, this being Melisande could work That’s not the problem, it’s more that Talia wasn’t conceived hundreds of years ago, she’s probably in her early to mid 30s. So unless Melisande became the leader of the league of lazarus and replaced the previous leader after giving birth to her daughter around 30 years ago this wouldn’t make sense. And they could go for this explanation, if Mother Soul is Talia’s mother. But in this case we have to assume that the league of lazarus does not have an “immortal” leader like the league of assassins and that whoever rebelled against Ra’s all those hundreds of years ago was a different person and not this woman.Which again, is possible. What wouldn’t really work is if this is woman is both the one who seperated the league of lazarus from Ra’s hundreds of years ago and the one who gave birth to Talia only a few decades ago. Melisande could’ve been in separation from Ra’s for ages, but that doesn’t mean they could'nt have had a moment of weakness some 30 years ago. (Although why Melisande would let Ra’s raise their daughter in this situation, I have no idea). If that was the case Melisande must have stopped using her anti-aging pit after Talia’s birth considering how old this woman looks. And I why would she do that? Well, she’d have to stop at least for the time of her pregnancy (and perhaps a bit after that), just like one does with most kinds of medicine. Otherwise the pit would halt the pregnancy’s development and perhaps have corrupting influence on Talia before she was even born.No idea why she would do that afterwards, unless time actually caught up with her during that period and returning to the pit only managed to stop the aging, without de-aging her. So she stayed young for hundreds of years, got pregnant with Ra’s child after seperating from him hundreds of years ago, let Ra’s raise the child and then for some reason decided to stop using the pits that kept her young so now she looks like 60-70+ old woman. Sorry, but that doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Sorry to butt in here but don’t they hint at Ra’s meeting Talia’s mother at Woodstock? I don’t think she’s hundreds of years old like Ra’s. She might have gotten pregnant and willingly or unwillingly left Talia and either joined the League of Lazarus or began it. I don’t think we ever found out how old the League of Lazarus is, so I feel like that’s still kind of plausible. If they do say that the League of Lazarus is a few hundred years old and I somehow missed it, we could just assume that Melisande joined and became the leader after it was created? That is what I’m trying to say. If Mother Soul is Melisande, then she must have become the leader of the league of lazarus rather recently (as in: not hundreds of years ago). But as we know from interviews with Joshua Williamson, the league of lazarus is pretty old and seperated from him in his early years. So I assume the person that lead them away from Ra’s must have been someone else. Assuming Mother Soul really is Melisande. That was really all I was trying to say. -- source link
